The main aim of the consul general’s office will be to forge better relations with West Bengal and India, in the fields of bilateral trade, education, skill development and sharing of infrastructure.
Ahmadi said: “We are interested to get the proposed memorandum of understandings (MoUs) signed between MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Balk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kabul, Export Promotion Agency, Afghanistan.”
It may be recalled, Shaida Mohammad Abdali, the Afghanistan ambassador to India, had said last year that the volume of Indo-Afghan trade could reach $3 billion within a short time once the proposed bilateral trade agreements becomes operational.
