No BJP-TMC Alliance for 2016 State Polls: Sinha

Our CorrespondentKolkata: West Bengal BJP president Rahul Sinha has ruled out any possible alliance between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and his party for the 2016 assembly polls in the state.

Misra alleged to the media today that Bengal is now synonymous with ‘vandalism’, and BJP under no circumstances would seek any alliance with TMC as that would disrupt the sanctity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will also affect the goodwill of his party.

Accusing chief minister Mamata Banerjee, Sinha further said: “She sports a hijab, prays like a Muslim, announces honorariums for Islamic clerics and ends her speech with either khuda hafeez or insallah. And she claims to be secular? What harm did the Hindus, Christians or Sikhs do? Even Muslims can see through her fake histrionics which is evident in thousands of them joining BJP.”

Meanwhile, speculating a TMC-BJP grand alliance for the polls, Surya Kanta Mishra, CPI(M) state secretary, said at a party rally today: “With the election approaching, Banerjee wants to join hands with BJP to keep CBI away from the Saradha and other chit fund scams probe.” Her recent Delhi visit, Misra claimed, was not just to attend the wedding of Arun Jaitely’s daughter but also to meet Modi to negotiate a hindrance in the CBI investigation.
